Mojang Announces the End of its Card Battle Game and Offers One More Year Of Playtime

Mojang means Minecraft. But that's not all the thing the Microsoft-owned developer tinkers at. Scrolls was an online battle video based on cards game that is available on PC, Mac, and tablets.  kd76 The developer announced that the title was ending its existence and would cease development. The announcement doesn't provide any specific reason for the quiet ending, but we've reached out to find out if there's any reason at all that Mojang claimed a legal victory against Bethesda in being able name the game "Scrolls" in the first place, but was prohibited from naming sequels similar to the original. Mojang promises to keep the servers up for another year, so there's a total of twelve months to finish the latest update and levels, which were released only this month.

Update: A Mojang spokesperson confirmed to us: "The launch of the 'Scrolls' beta was a great success. Tens of thousands of players played every day, and a lot of them remain active today. The game is no longer able to keep pace with the ever-changing game.
